Attorney Megan Richmond
As an experienced employment litigator, Ms. Richmond has secured millions of dollars in employment claims against county governments. She has successfully handled a broad range of multi-million dollar cases involving wrongful death, plaintiff class actions, serious personal injuries, probate litigation, and business litigation.
Education:

9th Circuit appeal As a first year attorney, successfully argued and won an appellate opinion that affirmed the lower court’s order on summary judgment motion that our client was insurable in California for a Canadian severe casualty auto accident caused by the client’s child driver.

Court of Appeal, Div 1 Successfully argued and won a new trial for the Plaintiff client following a defense jury verdict regarding a lawsuit for harassment and retaliation against the California Highway Patrol with a Plaintiff’s verdict of $4,505.022.00 after the second trial.

Confidential Settlement Obtained a $7,500,000.00 settlement in a personal injury case for a client who suffered a brain injury when he was hit by defendant’s speeding car while crossing the street.
Confidential Settlement Obtained in excess of a $4,000,000.00 settlement with an insurance company as lead counsel in a wrongful death action where the decedent was crossing a street and was hit by a driver with a policy limit of $15,000.00.
Confidential Settlement Obtained a $2,500,000.00 settlement as lead counsel on behalf of County Social Workers for overtime violations under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
Ellerd v. Los Angeles County Obtained a $1,475,000.00 settlement as lead counsel on behalf of Los Angeles County Social Workers for overtime violations under the Fair Labor Standards Act with an award of $60,000.00 and $25,000.00 for the client class representatives.
Confidential Settlements Obtained in excess of $1,000,000.00 settlements as lead counsel on behalf of County Social Workers for overtime violations under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
Denkin v. County of San Bernardino Obtained a $1,400,000.00 settlement as lead counsel on behalf of County Social Workers for overtime violations under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
Pike/Denkin v. County of San Bernardino Obtained a $2,000,000.00 settlement as lead counsel on behalf of County Social Workers for overtime violations under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
Descano v. Evans Tire & Service Centers Successfully served as Lead Class Counsel to a Plaintiff Class of over 250,000 persons in a consumer class action against tire retailer Evans Tire & Service Centers. Achieved class certification over vigorous opposition by Defendant. The pre-trial Settlement which was ultimately reached resulted in substantial benefit to class members (valued in seven digits), as well as permanent reforms of Defendant's marketing practices related to sales of tire warranties ("LOTSA") and collection of charges for disposal of customers' used tires ("WTDF").
Rodgers v. L & M Tire Company dba Express Tires Successfully served as Lead Class Counsel to a Plaintiff Class in a consumer class action against tire retailer L & M Tire Company dba Express Tires. Achieved class certification over vigorous opposition by Defendant. The pre-trial Settlement which was ultimately reached resulted in substantial benefit to class members (valued in seven digits), as well as permanent reforms of Defendant's marketing.

In Re Meltzer Estate Obtained a $1,200,000.00 settlement as lead counsel post-trial on behalf of a decedent’s surviving son who was a beneficiary under a Will that contradicted title being held by the other surviving children to the subject real property.
In re Robles Estate Proved up a lost and/or destroyed Will as lead counsel after estranged wife broke into decedent’s home on the day of the funeral. The trial verdict was in favor of decedent’s sister for decedent’s real property worth in excess of $600,000.00.
Tantod v. Family Trust Defended a Trust as lead counsel regarding its’ purchase of commercial properties. Post-trial settlement, zero liability for the Trust.
Confidential Settlement Obtained an equal distribution of a Trust as lead counsel for a surviving child where assets exceeded $100,000,000.00.
